Morgan Stanley Pensions Specialist Joins Citi Prime Brokerage

Jul 25 2011 | 12:39pm ET

Citigroup has hired a capital introductions specialist from Morgan Stanley to boost its prime brokerage business.

James Kelly will focus on pensions in his new post as a director at Citi Prime Finance. He formerly handled pensions at Morgan Stanley as head of transition management in the Americas after helping set up that firm's pension solutions group.

"As more pension funds move directly into alternative investments, most specifically hedge funds, it is critical to have a keen understanding of these allocators and their individual investment objectives and needs," new boss Elizabeth Neely, head of U.S. cap. intro, said. "Jim's experience and deep relationships within the pension community will play a vital role for Citi and help bridge the gap between this increasingly important investor segment and the hedge fund clients who serve them."
