UBS Equities Structuring Leadership Features Hedge Fund Experience

Aug 30 2011 | 12:02pm ET

UBS has announced a slew of appointments to build up its global equities structuring platform, including several hedge fund veterans and service providers.

One of the new hires is Eric Bensoussan, named head of GES for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and interim global head of derivatives structuring. Bensoussan joins UBS from Deutsche Bank, where he was a managing director in product structuring, specializing in hedge funds, among other clients.

In addition, three of the five new global product heads have alternative investments ties. Andrew Ferraris, UBS' new global head of quantitative products, most recently worked at BlueCrest Capital Management. Newly-minted global head of investment strategies Xavier de La Porte du Theil jumps over to GES from UBS' alternative investment solutions business, where he was head of financial engineering. And Richard Walters, former co-head of trading in alternative investments solutions, was named global head of fund structuring.
