Sep 6 2011 | 3:54am ET

Aethra Asset Management hedge fund manager Matthias Scheiber has joined Schroders' multi-asset business.

Scheiber had run a hedge fund and several absolute return mandates at Aethra, which he joined from Fortis Investments. He begins his new job on Thursday.

"Our multi-asset business has grown rapidly over the past five years and we are keen to build on this momentum," Nicolas Marais, head of multi-asset investment and portfolio solutions, said. "We continue to deepen our multi-asset investment process especially in the area of research and product innovation and Matthias will be a key contributor to this."
