Former Shumway Capital Partners portfolio manager Paul Hudson has hired at least five people in advance of his new hedge fund's launch next month.
Glade Brook Capital Partners has named former Shumway head trader Sean Riley to the same post, HFMWeek reports. Another Shumway veteran, Kyle Daniels, serves as director of operations at the new firm, which has received a $100 million seed investment from Shumway founder Chris Shumway.
Glade Brook had previously hired former Shumway controller Paul Barron as CFO.
In addition, Glade Brook has named Dana Witkin head of investor relations, and Colin Kronewitter and Edward Liao analysts. Witkin formerly worked in investor relations at Icahn Partners. Kronewitter joins from Maverick Capital and Liao from Carlyle AlpInvest Partners.
Hudson founded Greenwich, Conn.-based Glade Brook, which will focus on technology, media and telecommunications, earlier this year, after Shumway decided to close his firm.
