Sep 15 2011 | 3:37am ET

Minneapolis hedge fund Whitebox Advisors is getting cerebral.

The firm, founded by Deephaven Asset Management founding partner Andrew Redleaf, will launch a research portal this month, HFMWeek reports. The new Web site, Whitebox Selected Research, will offer a platform for investment professionals and academics to post their research, white papers and other published works on a wide range of topics.

“We always believe good ideas drive good investment,” Whitebox director of research Richard Vigilante told HFM. The new platform will focus primarily on increasing the quality of capital allocation.
