Tufton's Leung Joins Jefferies Research

Jefferies has added a hedge fund analyst to its Hong Kong office as its seeks to bolster its Asia equity research team.

Johnson Leung was named head of Asia transport equity research. He joins from hedge fund Tufton Oceanic, where he was a senior shipping analyst. Tufton focuses on maritime investments.

Leung's appointment was announced alongside three others for the bank's Asia stock research ground in Hong Kong.

"We are pleased to welcome these new hires to Jefferies as we increase our research footprint in Asia and add to our existing coverage within the Conglomerates sector," Christie Ju, co-head of Asian conglomerates equity research, said. "Their addition enhances Jefferies' ability to provide our institutional clients with high-quality, independent equity research coverage of these important and strategic sectors."
