Nomura Holdings has hired a hedge fund derivatives salesman to work on its own derivatives sales effort.

Steve Kilcullen joins the bank as head of flow derivatives sales from UBS Securities. At UBS, he was head of hedge fund flow derivatives sales.

"Steve is well-known to the market for his alpha-generating ideas and strong work ethic on behalf of clients, and we especially look forward to offering our customers greater expertise and investment strategies across the capital structure," Ciaran O'Kelly, head of equities for the Americas at Nomura, said. "He will provide intensity and leadership on the derivatives desk and across the floor, as well as develop our arbitrage franchise."

Kilcullen is charged with boosting his new desk's convertible arbitrage and special situations trading.
