Texas Looks For Legal Aid In Alternative, Derivatives Deals

The $112 billion Teacher Retirement System of Texas has issued a request for qualifications for an outside counsel to advise the system on its derivatives, alternative assets transactions, contracts with external investment managers, public equities and fixed-income portfolios.

The outside counsel contract will commence on or after July 1 and will expire Aug. 31, 2009. The deadline for the RFQ, which can be accessed at TRS' Web site, is June 29, before 5:00 p.m CST.
