Katie Couric, Ex-Hedgie Boyfriend Split

Dec 14 2011 | 3:50am ET

Brooks Perlin is an ex-hedge fund manager. He’s now also the ex-boyfriend of ABC news anchor Katie Couric.

Couric and Perlin have split after five years together, People magazine reports. Earlier this year, Couric said her life with Perlin was “complicated,” but said she was “really happy.”

“I’m in the process of figuring out the future, and so is he,” she said.

According to People, the couple’s split is due in part to their different career paths and in part to their age difference. Couric is 54 and Perlin 37.

Perlin now runs an environmentally-friendly building products company. But he’s worked at three hedge funds, Grange Park Capital Management, Pequot Capital Management and, most recently, Keel Capital Management. His father, Sanford, is also a hedgie, working at Kleos Capital Management.
