Law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has staged a coup in London, luring two of the British capital's top hedge fund lawyers from a rival.
Tim Pearce and Ian Meade were named partners at the firm's London office. The two formerly worked at Simmons & Simmons.
"Tim and Ian are two well-respected and highly-regarded lawyers and bring exceptional insights and experience into this market and the legal and commercial issues on which our clients are increasingly focused," Prakash Mehta, co-head of Akin Gump's investment fund and private equity practice, said. "The investment funds scene globally is rapidly changing and the opportunities for our clients in the U.K. and internationally are enormous."
