After four years at hedge fund Permal Group, Joshua Levine is returning to BlackRock.

Levine was named co-head of pensions at the world's largest asset manager. In his new post, he'll focus on developing and maintaining relationships with institutional investors, especially on the East Coast and in the Midwest, alongside Al Goduti.

Levine was head of BlackRock's institutional business in Latin America until 2007, when he joined Permal, a Legg Mason subsidiary, as head of institutional sales in the Americas.
