Apr 12 2012 | 10:31am ET

In an effort to turn things around at its flagship strategy, the Man Group has added an industry veteran.

Ravi Chari was named co-head of foreign exchange for AHL, Man said today. David Denison, the US$21 billion strategy's current head of forex, will remain in his post alongside Chari.

AHL lost 6.4% last year and is down 2.1% this year.

"We are pleased to be strengthening the team at AHL with someone who has such a wealth of experience in systematic trading as Ravi," AHL CEO Tim Wong said. "I look forward to working with him."

Chari joins Man from IKOS Asset Management, where he ran futures and forex funds. He spent just over two years at IKOS, and formerly worked at Millennium Partners, DKR Capital and Caxton Associates.
