Morgan Stanley Nets $1.3 Billion For Fund Of Private Equity Funds

Morgan Stanley has closed its latest fund of private equity funds with $1.3 billion in commitments.

Fundraising for the Morgan Stanley Private Markets Fund V exceeded its $1.25 billion target, leading Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners chief Jacques Chappuis to say, "We are very gratified by the success of our business-development efforts in this challenging fundraising environment."

Private Markets V will invest in global private equity managers, including buyout specialists, venture capital firms and special situations strategies.

Investors committed $720 million to the fund itself, and another $580 million to related accounts.
