HSBC Picks Ford To Head Asia Prime Brokerage

Prime brokerage veteran Melvyn Ford has been named head of HSBC Holdings' hedge fund services business in Asia.

Ford, who formerly led Merrill Lynch's Asian prime brokerage, was promoted to head of prime services in Asia. Leaving Merrill in 2008, Ford joined HSBC in 2010 as head of hedge-fund coverage in Asia.

HSBC launched its Asia prime brokerage just last year.
