SAC Healthcare Manager Evans Out

May 18 2012 | 4:08am ET

A SAC Capital Advisors healthcare hedge fund manager has left the firm, possibly to launch his own hedge fund.

Eric Evans will take some time off before making his next move, HFMWeek reports. But he could launch his own firm as soon as next year.

Evans' departure follows that last year of SAC healthcare analyst Norbert Gottesman. Gottesman and Helios Capital veteran Jeff Schachter founded Avet Capital Management last year, winning a seed investment from Tiger Management founder Julian Robertson.
