Citadel Investment Group and Highbridge Capital Management veteran Toby Bartlett is readying an Asia-focused equity hedge fund for launch.

Bartlett’s Arena Capital could debut as soon as next month, Bloomberg News reports. The event-driven fund’s niche will be North Asia, focusing especially on domestic-demand industries, such as retail, food, telecommunications and healthcare, in Japan and South Korea from its Hong Kong base.

Bartlett was marketing the fund at a Morgan Stanley conference in Shanghai last month, according to Bloomberg.

Bartlett was most recently an Asian equity manager at Highbridge, which he left last year. He spent the prior two years at Citadel managing Japanese stocks.
