Third Avenue Management has hired a Rothschild restructuring specialist to build its alternative investments business.
David Resnick was named president of the New York-based asset manager, best known for its value mutual funds. But the former head of global financing advisory at Rothschild will seek to expand Third Avenue's remit into alternatives and other private funds.
Resnick has worked for Rothschild for 12 years. His move was first reported by Bloomberg News.
Third Avenue is majority-owned by Affiliated Managers Group.
