Soros To Marry Girlfriend Less Than Half His Age

Aug 13 2012 | 12:10pm ET

Hedge fund legend George Soros will marry for a third time.

The Soros Fund Management founder and his 40-year-old fiancée, Tamiko Bolton, announced their engagement on Saturday, at Soros' 82nd birthday party at his home in Southampton, N.Y. The couple, who met in 2008 but who did not appear in public together until May, were engaged a few weeks ago, also in the Hamptons.

The marriage will be Soros' third—the previous two produced five children—and Bolton's second.

Bolton is the founder of a Web-based yoga education business. The former pharmacist also founded an Internet dietary supplement business and holds a master's of business administration degree from the University of Miami.

The two may also be further evidence for the old saw that opposites attract: While Soros is perhaps the most prominent Democratic bankroller and an outspoken liberal, Bolton was registered to vote as a Republican when she lived in Miami—a registration that changed when she moved into Soros' Manhattan apartment.
