JE Moody & Co. Taps Morgan Stanley Vet As COO

Portland, Ore.-based investment manager JE Moody & Company has hired Morgan Stanley vet Jeremy Beal as chief operating officer.

Beal, who joins the senior management team, will be responsible for managing the firm's day-to-day business operations.

Beal spent over 10 years at Morgan Stanley in New York in a number of positions, most recently COO of the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney's Alternative Investments Group.

"While at Morgan Stanley, Jeremy demonstrated an ability to help manage a complex business and effectively drive change," said JE Moody & Co. CEO John Moody. "His experience and deep knowledge of many areas of alternative investments will be a significant asset in our continued growth."

JE Moody & Co. manages about $360 million. The firm's Commodity Relative Value strategy is billed as a "pure alpha" commodities strategies.
