Fortress Investment Group has closed its latest private equity funds, Fortress Investment Fund V and Fortress Coinvestment Fund V, with a total of $5 billion in third-party capital commitments.
The firm said it expects the main fund, Fortress Investment Fund V, which had a previously announced first closing in May, to ultimately include an additional $1 billion of capital from its affiliates and employees.
Fortress managed approximately $36 billion in assets as of the end of March.
