SAC Capital Advisors' nascent reinsurance business is growing.
Tim Duffin will join SAC Re next month from Platinum Underwriters in Bermuda. Duffin will serve as deputy property catastrophe underwriter.
He'll work under Kathleen Reardon, who joins the firm next week as chief underwriting officer for property, Trading Risk reports.
SAC launched its reinsurance business in Bermuda in July with $500 million in initial capital. The firm is led by Simon Burton, formerly CEO of Lancashire Holdings and Lancashire Insurance Co.
