Blackstone Loses Lawyer Rovine

One of the top lawyers at the Blackstone Group has returned to white-shoe law firm Sidley Austin after a decade at the private equity firm.

Joshua Rovine, who was a partner at Sidley from 1998 through 2002, is one once more. He left Sidley in 2003 to become a managing director at Blackstone's legal and compliance department; at the time of his departure, he was general counsel of advisory services and chief compliance officer of Blackstone Capital Partners.

"It is great to welcome Josh back to the firm," Michael Schmidtberger, co-head of Sidley's investment funds group, said. "The level of experience he has in this practice area coupled with his 10 years of in-house tenure at one of the leading alternative asset management companies in the world will strengthen further the level of service that our firm will be able to provide to clients."
