HFR Rolls Out UCITS Indices

Jan 23 2013 | 10:01am ET

Hedge Fund Research has launched a new suite of benchmarks tracking UCITS-compliant hedge funds.

The HFRU family of indices joins HFR's existing HFRX and HFRI indices. The new benchmarks are, according to HFR, the most comprehensive suit of UCITS hedge fund performance available, covering the UCITS universe generally and four strategies—equity hedge, event-driven, macro and relative-value arbitrage—within it.

Formally launched this month, the indices have several years of backtested data available, showing UCITS funds up 4.87% last year. By contrast, HFR's flagship HFRX Global Hedge Fund Index returned 3.51% in 2012.
