Altra Nets $355 Million For Second South America Fund

Private equity firm Altra Investments has closed its second fund with more than $350 million in commitments.

The firm had sought $300 million for the pool and its parallel investment funds and got $355.8 million, it said this week. Altra focuses on mid-cap Andean South America, with offices in Bogotá, Colombia, and Lima, Peru, seeking effective control over companies.

Altra Private Equity Fund II received commitments from both new and existing investors, including all manner of institutional investors from around the world. It was raised with the help of Stanwich Advisors, which served as financial adviser and placement agent.
