Torrey Hires New Risk Chief

Emerging manager fund of funds shop Torrey Associates has hired John McClenahan as director of risk management. McClenahan joins Torrey from long/short equity shop North Sound Capital Management, where he served in a similar position.

"John brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the risk management area to our firm," James Torrey, chairman, said. "Risk management is a vitally important part of our firm's investment process. John's outstanding background and depth of knowledge make him exceptionally well-qualified to lead this effort."

Torrey’s portfolios span a variety of strategies with a core emphasis on equity long/short and debt markets.
