State Street's managed-account platform has named an industry veteran to lead its North American effort.

InfraHedge said that Robert Picard would fill the new post of president of InfraHedge North America. Picard has helped build hedge fund platforms at the Carlyle Group, Rock Creek Group, Optima Fund Management and RBC Capital Management. Most recently, he was at Lyxor Asset Management.

"Robert has been closely involved with InfraHedge since 2012, initially as a senior advisor, and his input has been incredibly valuable,” new boss Akshaya Bhargava, InfraHedge's founder, said. “In the light of our current and projected growth over the next two years, we are very pleased to have someone of his calibre joining our business in North America. His expertise in managed accounts and visible enthusiasm for next generation solutions for the hedge fund industry will benefit both our clients and our firm.”
