SG Capital Hire Friess Vet Steinberg

Apr 8 2013 | 10:17am ET

Chicago-based investment advisor SG Capital Management has tapped Friess Associates vet Ethan Steinberg as senior managing director.

In his new post, Steinberg will share responsibility for idea generation with the equity analyst team and portfolio management along with SG's founding partners, Ken Grossman and Glen Schneider.

Steinberg spent the last 16 years at Friess focused on the investment management activities of the Brandywine Funds. For the past five years, he managed his own team and assisted with CIO functions overseeing the entire Brandywine Funds portfolio.

“We are excited to have Ethan join our team,” said Grossman in a statement. “We feel that he will add significant value and depth to our existing team’s efforts in generating actionable ideas.”

SG manages funds and separate accounts for institutional and high-net-worth investors.
