Monarch Promotes Five

Monarch Alternative Capital has announced a round of promotions.

The New York-based distressed-debt hedge fund said that CFO Michael Maroof had been named a managing principal. Two others, investment team members Matthew Glowasky and Roger Schmitz, were promoted to principal, and trader Jordan Rieger to vice president. Colin Daniels was named associate general counsel.

Glowasky recently moved from the $5.5 billion hedge fund's New York base to London, to lead Monarch's new office, alongside Josiah Rotenberg.
