Moab Hires Southpaw Vet Axon

Hedge Fund Moab Capital Partners has hired Michael Axon as a managing director on its investment team.

Axon comes to Moab from Southpaw Asset Management where he served as a managing director from 2007 to 2013. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president and principal on the distressed and special situations research team at CRT Capital  Group. Axon began his career as a global risk management analyst at Morgan Stanley in 1992.

Founded by Perry Capital and Xerion Capital vet Michael Rothenberg, Moab is an event-driven manager with a seven-year track record and $300 million in assets under management.
