Millennium Adds Lehman, Barclays Vet In Asia

Millennium Management has its eye on a former Lehman Brothers executive to lead its Asia effort.

The New York-based hedge fund has hired Kirk Sweeney to serve in a senior role in Asia. According to Asian Investor, he is favored to succeed former Millennium Asia CEO Kunho Cho, who joined Korea's PineStreet Group in March.

Sweeney was most recently head of senior relationship management at Barclays, leaving the bank in May. Prior to Barclays, he worked at Nomura Holdings, which acquired Lehman's U.S. operations after that bank went under.
