Chicago-based independent futures brokerage and clearing firm R.J. O’Brien & Associates (RJO) has hired industry veteran Daniel Staniford as Executive Director, responsible for the firm’s institutional business development in New York and London.

York Capital Management's tough June did not extend into July.
The New York-based firm enjoyed gains across all of its strategies. York Multi Strategy added 2.7% on the month and is up almost 8% on the year, ValueWalk reports. The firm's Credit Opportunities Fund added 1.6% in July and is up 9% in 2013. York Asian Opportunities Fund rose 1.1% on the month and is up 6.47% on the year, and the firm's European Credit Opportunities Fund added 0.8% on the month and is up 5.5% on the year.
In contrast, York suffered losses across all its strategies in June.
