Aug 21 2013 | 12:28pm ET by Deirdre Brennan

What impact is the evolving regulatory environment having on the hedge fund industry? BlackRock’s Vice Chairman Barbara Novick will answer this question and more during her keynote address at the FINforums Third Annual Hedge Fund Summit. The half-day event, which takes place on September 19 at New York’s Convene, is organized by FINalternatives, a leading independent news source for the alternative investment industry.

Conference attendees will also benefit from insights from other prominent experts from the hedge fund and institutional investing community. Speakers include Nick Colas of BNY ConvergEx, Christian Menegatti of Roubini Global Economics, Eric Lazear of FQS Capital Partners, Don Steinbrugge of Agecroft Partners, Q Belk of Cambridge Associates, Mike Curry of InfoHedge Technologies, Ron Geffner of Sadis & Goldberg and more. Subjects covered this year will include the global macro outlook, the evolving regulatory environment, advice on capital raising and an investment consultants roundtable.

“This year’s FINforums program comes at a time of significant change to the industry, including new SEC rules for hedge fund marketing, increased global regulatory oversight and a highly competitive environment for capital raising,” said Deirdre Brennan, publisher of FINalternatives and co-founder of FINforums. “The speakers at the summit will empower fund managers with actionable advice that can help shape their businesses in the years ahead.”

Attendees will have ample opportunities for networking during coffee breaks, lunch and a two-hour cocktail and hors d'oeuvres reception. This annual event is a must attend gathering for anyone involved in the hedge fund industry, including fund managers, high-net-worth investors, institutional investors, lawyers, accountants, technology providers, private bankers, advisors and consultants.

“We believe that in-person events will continue to drive business in the hedge fund industry, that’s why we’ve structured FINforums to provide for the optimal peer networking and business development experience for all attendees,” said Mitch Ackles, CEO of Hedge Fund PR and co-founder of FINforums.

FINforums is sponsored by InfoHedge Technologies, Grassi & Co., Cordium, BUMI, Hedge Fund PR and Seigenthaler Public Relations. Event partners include the Hedge Fund Association, The New York Hedge Fund Roundtable and EurekaHedge.
