Blackstone Advisory Adds Ex-UBS Industrials Chief

The Blackstone Group's advisory business has named Karl Knapp to lead its global industrials practice.

Knapp, who is based in New York, was appointed a senior managing director at Blackstone Advisory Partners. He joins the firm from UBS, where he was head of global industrials and vice-chairman of its investment bank. Knapp formerly worked at Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette, E.F. Hutton & Co. and Morgan Stanley.

"Karl’s long experience and track record advising CEOs, companies and boards will enable Blackstone’s Advisory practice to operate at another level within the industrial space; his strong industry knowledge in the areas of paper and packaging, building products and diversifieds will also allow us to make further inroads in these important industrial sectors," John Studzinski, global head of BAP, said.
