Stoking rumors that it is preparing to go public, Chicago hedge fund giant Citadel Investment Group has hired Goldman Sachs’ head of investor relations.
John Andrews joins Citadel as a managing director. It is unclear what his precise role will be; Citadel said Scott Rafferty, its current investor relations chief, will remain its chief fundraiser.
Andrews joined Goldman in 1999, just before its initial public offering.
Andrews’ departure follows that of Goldman U.S. public relations head Peter Rose, who joined private equity giant The Blackstone Group in August.
