BlueCrest Capital Management has hired a top Nomura Holdings banker as part of its continuing push to build an "investment-bank quality" trading team.

Marcel Kfoury will join London-based BlueCrest as a credit portfolio manager in January, he told Bloomberg News. He'll co-manage part of the firm's US$2 billion emerging markets fund.

Kfoury was head of emerging-markets credit trading at Nomura, and is a former Deutsche Bank credit derivatives swap trader. He spent about four years at each bank.
