European mid-market private equity firm Duke Street has appointed Thierry Paternot as an operating partner. Paternot will specialize in consumer-related businesses.

Paternot is currently president of Stanley Tools, Europe. He was previously the chief executive officer of Facom in Paris before its acquisition by Stanley Europe in January 2006.

“His expertise will be invaluable in ensuring we add value at every stage of our deal program, from origination through to exit but particularly during the transformation phase,” said Fred Chauffier, managing partner of Duke Street. “Thierry has significant knowledge of the consumer facing sector and of running companies at the highest level.”
