Fidelity Unveils Institutional Alts. Platform

Nov 4 2013 | 11:12am ET

Mutual-fund giant Fidelity Investments has launched a new alternative investments platform for its institutional investors business.

Fidelity Institutional's Alternative Investments Network will offer access to alternatives products, research, education and third-party due diligence. The latter services will be provided by Goldman Sachs and Morningstar, among others. Fidelity will also hold several forums to keep clients up to date on alternatives.

"This platform was built on insights from our clients regarding the challenges they face incorporating alternative investments into their clients' portfolios," said Mark Haggerty, who leads Fidelity Institutional's product group. "Delivering access to leading products was a priority, but we also invested in providing institutional-quality third-party due diligence, insights and education, and a simplified and consistent pricing structure."
