NewSmith Capital Partners has hired a Carmignac Gestion sales executive to lead its own push into the retail space.
Matthew Wright was named head of U.K. and European distribution at the British hedge fund, which is set to launch retail versions of some of its top funds.
"We are delighted to welcome Matthew to the firm," NewSmith Chairman Paul Roy said. "His appointment marks a significant development for NewSmith, where we are planning to broaden the distribution of our investment strategies."
Wright was head of U.K. distribution at Carmignac.
