Hedge Fund ETF Comes To Colombia

Nov 26 2013 | 5:55pm ET

Exchange-traded funds shop Global X Funds is taking its hedge fund "best ideas" vehicle to Latin America.

The New York-based firm has listed its Global X Guru Index ETF, and two other ETFs, on the Bolsa de Valores de Colombia. The firm said it is the first foreign ETF issuer to make its products available in Colombia.

"This is yet another exciting innovation for Global X Funds," CEO Bruno del Ama said. "After extensive work with Colombia regulators and the Colombian stock exchange, we are proud to be the first foreign issuer to bring ETFs to Colombian investors."

The Guru fund debuted last year and seeks to replicate hedge fund returns held by prominent managers as disclosed in their Form 13F filings.
