Towers Watson has a new top hedge fund consultant in Australia.

The firm has hired Craig Mercer from Dalton Investments, where he was head of the London office. Mercer, who formerly worked at Towers in Hong Kong and London, will move to Sydney, where he will serve as a specialist senior hedge fund and alternatives consultant, Pensions & Investments reports.

Mercer will assume some of Ross Barry's responsibilities at Towers; Barry is set to leave the firm at the end of the year.

Mercer previously spent five years at Towers, including a stint as head of emerging markets in Asia.
