Hedge Fund Whippoorwill Nabs Jefferies Exec. For Fundraising

Jefferies & Co. wealth-management chief Markman Peters is leaving the bank to join distressed-debt hedge fund Whippoorwill Associates.

Peters will oversee fundraising efforts at the White Plains, N.Y.-based hedge fund, Reuters reports.

Peters told Jefferies brokers of his departure yesterday. He will be succeeded on an interim basis by Jefferies wealth-management chief operating officer Frank Scheuer.
