Morningstar Names Charlson Alts. Research Chief

Morningstar Inc. has a new head of alternative investments research.

Josh Charlson will lead the firm’s alternative investment analysts and edit its Alternative Investments Observer newsletter. He reports to global fund research chief Scott Burns.

Charlson has been with Morningstar since 1990, most recently as a fund of funds research strategist. He was also a hedge fund analyst and a senior editor at Morningstar Associates, the firm’s investment management division.
