BlackRock is boosting its new credit hedge fund team with talent from one of the world's most prominent bond investors.
Former Pacific Investment Management Co. vice president Shantanu Agrawal was named a special situations analyst at BlackRock, the world's largest money manager. Agrawal will work on BlackRock's credit alpha fund, which it launched in October under Dave Trucano.
Agrawal joined BlackRock earlier this year, Financial News reports. BlackRock has also hired Morgan Stanley alumnus Sunil Aggarwal to serve as a special situations analyst on the fund.
BlackRock hopes to raise as much as $3 billion for the new vehicle.
