Mar 21 2014 | 9:54am ET

JPMorgan Chase has hired Averos Capital’s Soheil Galal to build its hedge-fund replication lineup.

Galal was named a managing director at JPMorgan Asset Management, charged with developing the firm’s global alternative beta investment strategies. JPMorgan is set to launch its first such product in the U.S. this year; it already runs about US$2 billion in alternative beta strategies in the U.K.

Galal was a partner and co-chief investment officer at London-based Averos.
