March Hedge Fund Redemption Fall Year-On-Year

Hedge funds are set to see smaller redemptions this month than in March 2013, according to SS&C Technologies.

The SS&C GlobeOp Forward Redemption Indicator shows that withdrawals for the end of the first quarter will be lower than last year. “As we approach the end of the first quarter of 2014, forward redemption requests remain slightly lower than this time last year,” SS&C CEO Bill Stone said.

The indicator ticked up to 3.81% this month from 3.38% last month. The benchmark represents the total forward redemption notices received by hedge funds administered on SS&C’s GlobeOp platform.
