The former chief investment officer at Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund is set to launch a new hedge fund, backed by his former employer.

Ng Kok Song will roll out a global macro offering later this year. The fund will be seeded by the Government of Singapore Investment Corp., where he served as CIO until last year.

Song, who remains a senior advisor to the GIC, has had a hand in managing Singapore’s foreign reserves for 40 years, starting at the Ministry of Finance before moving on to the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the GIC, which he joined in 1986.
