Ex-UBS Credit Specialist To D.E. Shaw

D.E. Shaw Group has added a former UBS banker to boost its European credit investment effort.

Stephan Michel joined the firm last month, Financial News reports. He will focus on credit opportunities.

Michel was head of UBS’ non-core and legacy assets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa until November. He joined UBS in 2008 from hedge fund Cairn Capital. Prior to that, he was co-head of European credit research at Barclays Capital.
