Winton Capital Management has set up shop in Australia.
The hedge fund opened an office in Sydney on Monday. Winton named senior investment specialist Andrew Grimes to lead the base.
“By opening a local office, [Winton] is demonstrating a long-term commitment to offer dedicated service to our Australian investors,” Grimes said.
Grimes has been an institutional investment specialist at Platinum Asset Management before moving to Winton.
The Sydney office is one of three new international bases that Winton plans to open this year. The firm will also set up shop in New York and Tokyo.
