TCI Partner Derbyshire To Duet

A top partner at The Children’s Investment Fund has left the firm to join rival hedge fund Duet Group.

Mark Derbyshire was named head legal counsel to Duet’s hedge and private equity funds, Duet said. He’ll start his new job next week.

Derbyshire spent nearly seven years at TCI and was one of the activist hedge fund’s roughly 15 partners. Among the campaigns he worked on was Coal India, which TCI accused the Indian government of improperly interfering with at the expense of minority shareholders.
