Soros Offered Ex Almost $7 Million To Settle Lawsuit

George Soros’ ex-girlfriend could have had more than three times the price of the “dream apartment” he allegedly promised to buy her—but turned it down.

Soros reportedly offered Adriana Ferreyr $6.9 million last year to drop her lawsuit against him. But Ferreyr told the New York Post that she rejected the settlement in order to see her former lover deposed.

Ferreyr got her deposition, which degenerated into something of a disaster in February, but now may get nothing at all from her $50 million lawsuit. A court in April threw out her claims for emotional distress brought when Soros gave a $1.9 million apartment allegedly promised to Ferreyr to the woman who later became his third wife—and Soros’ lawyers quickly withdrew the settlement offer, the Post reports.

Ferreyr’s assault and battery claim—in which she alleges that the 83-year-old billionaire struck her, attempted to choke her and threatened her with a lamp during a 2010 argument about the East 85th Street home—survive.

Ferreyr herself allegedly got a few licks in during February’s deposition, during which she reportedly became abusive and struck Soros and his aide, and also attacked one of his lawyers.
